#MyFashionMyTribe: The New World of Inclusivity at Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week SS’20
“Our uniqueness, our individuality, and our life experience molds us into fascinating beings. I hope we can embrace that. I pray we may all challenge ourselves to delve into the deepest resources of our hearts to cultivate an atmosphere of understanding, acceptance, tolerance, and compassion. We are all in this life together.” – Linda Thompson
Recently concluded Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week has set new milestones by introducing ‘inclusivity’ in their ramp shows. Fashion Design Council of India has been taking many unique initiatives in order to make fashion reach masses and classes both. I have been a fan of them for their substantial work for the development of handloom and making the life of weavers better, everyday. On similar lines, FDCI has introduced My Fashion My Tribe concept which breaks the age old concept of model and his/her looks and vitals. My Fashion My Tribe celebrates humanity by making every individual feel that he/she belongs to this place! The fashion industry is not more a bastion of good looks only- its inclusive of every shape, gender, complexion, status- means everyone is invited! Since I love handloom, and I have been working on gender equality issues, this season of Fashion Week was a learning experience for me too.
The designs were good, silhouettes dominated the spring summer designing. It seems today’s women keeps comfort on priority while choosing an ensemble these days. Designer showcased their forecasts for the upcoming season. Have a look:
