The energy was palpable as Lakmē Fashion Week, in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), opened its latest edition at The Kunj—a space that beautifully celebrates Indian craftsmanship and design.
The grand opening featured Anavila , Akaaro, and The Edit by The Kunj, three names that came together to tell one story, India’s love affair with textiles and tradition. The collections flowed seamlessly, each piece carrying the quiet strength of handmade artistry and the freshness of modern design.
Craft. Culture. Collaboration :

This year’s theme focused on craftsmanship, sustainability, and innovation. The collaboration between FDCI, Lakmē, and Reliance Brands underscored their continued commitment to supporting artisanal and designer fashion, ensuring that the essence of “Handmade in India, crafted for the world” remains at the center of India’s fashion ecosystem.
Supported by DC Handicrafts under the Ministry of Textiles, the setting of The Kunj offered an authentic and immersive experience where craft and creativity truly converged. The evening celebrated the artistry of Indian handloom, weaving together stories through intricate weaves, embroidery, and traditional textiles, each piece standing as a proud symbol of India’s cultural continuum.
The Edit by The Kunj : A Curated Craft Story
The segment, The Edit by The Kunj, featured exquisite handcrafted creations from designers and labels like Khamir, Iro Iro, Pieux, Aavaran, Kiniho, Runway Nagaland, Jiyo, Vimor, Shrujan, Vriksh, and Mirasi.

The showcase was a mesmerizing mix, from age-old ikats and Shibori to pure cottons, soft pashminas, and detailed Kutch embroideries, each piece narrating a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and artistry passed down through generations. It was in true means “Handmade in India, crafted for the world”, as the designs are perfect to suit contemporary fashionistas.
