This quotation of Leonardo Da Vinci clearly depicts personality of Aruna Anand, wife of the Vishwanath Anand, 5 times world Chess champion, an achievement which is unparallelled. Chess as a game is played in almost every country, Vishwanath Anand aka Vishy not only broke the undisputed reign of Russia, but also established the most reputed World Champion title for 5 times, an unparralled achievement. As we have heard, behind every successful man their is woman, in Mr.Anand’s case there are two-first his mother , and second, his wife Aruna.

Having married for 16 years, they look as fresh as newlyweds. Aruna has supported him through and through. Sources told that after 4 days of their wedding, instead of going to honeymoon, Aruna accompanied her hubby to a chess championship in Germany. Aruna doesn’t even seem complaining about it, rather she enjoys the unpredictability that comes before them. Answering to the question that how does it make her feel to be wife of the Vishwanath Anand she replies “Vishy doesn’t bring baggage of being a Chess champion at home, he comes as simple as he is.with him winning is not a problem,loosing is.” But as we know its easier said than done, Aruna strongly believes in balancing theory and has excelled and the results are so evident.

Recently Aruna and Vishy came to Delhi to receive and award from CNN IBN.CNN IBN yearly feat of Indian of the year.This  award is very reputed and people look forward to witness that who has achieved this award as their are many milestones to be cleared before winning the same. Vishy has not only been given an award as Sports Person of the year, he has been awarded as Indian of the year where he had competition from politicians, entertainers, social workers and many more. Vishy was as humble as he could be while receiving both the awards, and so was Aruna. Aruna in my view is simplicity personified. It was so difficult to take a pic of Aruna as she is such a camera and media shy person.

She carries an elegance unparallelled. Wrapped in Maroon and black Kanjivaram Saree with Peacock style gold  hangings, she was looking as fresh as she would have 16 years ago. She shared that now she is too busy as she has to take care of her 18 months old son ‘Akhil’. She enjoys his innocence, she enjoys the small-2 pleasures while bringing him up. She says that she doesn’t know how her time passes. Since they have to travel a lot due to Mr.Anand’s championships, she has to organise everything for her little bundle of joy.

Her style Mantra is keeping it simple. Apart from Sari’s she likes to wear trousers as travelling with a little baby is easier in the same. It was lovely meeting and ultimate sophisticated simple beauty after so long.
