In recently concluded India Couture Week, Anamika Khanna narrated her story thru her stylish, luxurious collection. Three halls of The Leela Palace, New Delhi was converted as stage showcasing models standing, reading, sleeping in the backdrop- which depicted that the time stood still. It gave me a feeling of the eternal fairy tale ‘The Sleeping Beauty’. According to Anamika Khanna, the collection experienced moments when tome stood still. In a world where romance is fast disappearing, there was an attempt to feel emotion. She has always made constant effort to bring youthfulness into the aesthetic. Tje collection attempted timlessness and moves towards classics. It was made so lively with timeless classic songs of Elvis Presley like ‘Can’t help falling in love with you….’ . Altogether a mesmerizing show.
Colour Palette started with softer ivories and pastels like oyster pink and rose, jade and powder blues. Red and black were strong in the later half. The cuts were expertimental and stylish. Anamika Khanna didn’t follow any restrictions or boundaries and made all the silhouettes flowy, comfortable yet highly stylish. Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor was among the front row guests.
