Jayanti Reddy’s Celebration of Nizam Heritage Through Her Couture ‘Threads of Legacy’

” One’s heritage and roots is something to be proud of and cherished.”-  Sonja Morgan

Jayanti Reddy made her India Couture Week debut this season at Hyundai India Couture Week 2024 in association with Reliance brands, an initiative by FDCI. The 17th edition of ICW was held at the extravagant 5 star property, The Taj Palace, in the national capital.

Jayanti’s couture, “Threads of Legacy” was a celebration of heritage in its own element. Hailing from the culturally rich town of Hyderabad, the young couturier was inspired by the Nawabi influences – from their ornate high jewelry collections to larger-than-life closets, her collection evoked reminiscence of Nawabi Canvas among the spectators.

Jayanti Reddy’s India Couture Week collection was a fine glimpse of her deep understanding of bygone era’s culture, couture and poetry. And not surprisingly, “Threads of Legacy”, comprising of approximately 40 seminal looks, is a captivating Nizami canvas where heritage textiles like raw silk, fluid chiffons  have a conversation with antique motifs. It’s like revisiting a time in India’s regal past where luxury was synonymous with immaculate detailing through hand embroidery and timelessness. Each look was beautifully accentuated with timeless jewelry by Kishandas & Co. of Hyderabad. All the Drapes were done by the celebrated saree art draper, Dolly Jain.

Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari walked as a show stopper for her dear friend, Jayanti, who happens to be  from her native, Hyderabad.
